if the ceremony's anything like it is in the ad on tv then it'll be quite hilarious i think . lol . i'll probably find myself laughing (or giggling , as girls do) as the lady or man says , "we welcome our new australian citizens" . because when he/she says that everyone starts hugging each other and confetti appears out of no where .

it's been quite a while since i've last updated - i'm afraid that's going to be the way it is now .

anyhoo , this past week has been quite strange . allow me to explain :
- we received a wedding invitation for an indian wedding . it's addressed to the previous owners of our house . for a look at it , go here : http://bee_as_in_zzz.blogspot.com . it was a source of amusement for about half an hour .

-had a horrible econs test this morning and it was the worst way to start a day . so completely horrible because i screwed up the test SO badly , it's not funny . i really don't want to know how much i got .

-but then everything was ok after that . because i had an accounting test that went pretty well . so i'm quite glad . hopefully those marks will be good .

-got home today and things got ugly . dad was in his usual bad temper , complaining about us (this time about how we're TOO dependant our parents for everything) . been harbouring a few things inside of me for quite a while and so today happened to be the day that everything got let out . i really didn't intend to yell , but i did . and what's done is done .

-watched 'riding in cars with boys' (yes , the one with drew barrymore and adam garcia in it) . i thought it was a really good movie , made me cry . and laugh . it's based on a true story too , so yeah . pretty interesting . i quite admire her for being who she is .

-finally got tagboard . hopefully it's working .

well waddya know , today's the last day of the holidays . that means only about 10 weeks till the mocks (that was the cue for slight panic , btw) ... and so starting from today , it's time to get down to some serious studying - won't be online much .

spent the earlier part of the afternoon watching some tv . you know , the usual Oprah and Passions . lol . bill clinton was on oprah and the Passions storyline hasn't really progressed so i haven't missed much . i think even if i were to watch it at the end of this year , i'd still be able to catch on to what's been going on . so yeah . no loss there .

sat around reading with samson next to me . hehe . he's so cute , after a while he fell asleep on his back with his paws up in the air . if i had the camera close by i would've taken a picture .

i'm still upset with channel 9 . grr. stupid . i think they're really not going to show gilmore girls on saturday evenings anymore , and they haven't even finished showing the rest of the season ... quite a few more episodes to go ( and more of Jess to see !!) . apart from that , they're constantly showing repeats and all . even with Friends at the moment , they've moved on to showing 'Australia's top 10 favourite episodes' . riiite , i think they've just stalling cos they're too cheapo to buy new episodes . soo yeah , i think this calls for an angry letter ( but i probably won't end up writing it ) .

tonight's quiz night - a royal waste of time .
i could've spent the entire evening doing something more productive . i think the only people who seemed to be having a really great time were the old-er people , who were probably getting drunk and stuff . lol . and yes , our table did preeettty badly . our prize : lemons .

had lunch with grace today at mac's . someone (i.e. me) woke up at 1230 - the time we were supposed to meet . i swear , i didn't hear my alarm go off (well that's my story , and i'm sticking to it) . so i had to get ready in record time . we finished off our day out with a trip to baskin robbins ! sat there talking and reading magazines (read: women's day) , finding it kind of difficult to move .

and finally , amy would like to be mentioned in my blog so here goes ... AMY CHAN - school starts on tues and so i will see you then !! and i mentioned you for no particular reason , happy now ?? o btw , thanks for always reminding me that i'm short (because i don't already realise that) .

this morning , we (mum , nette , lynne and i) left the house at about 9am to go to the immigration department to apply for citizenship . i think everyone was feeling a bit sleepy and so the only sound that was heard in the car was the radio .  it was a real pity , cos it was a perfect morning for a sleep-in - i.e. it was raining quite heavily , the sky was dark and it was quite cold .

so anyway . we reached the city , parked the car and off we went to the immigration department . well , not quite . we were temporarily misplaced because dad gave us the wrong directions . he told us that it was in Carillion Arcade , so that's where we went . after walking around quite a bit , we kind of realised that it WASN'T in Carillion Arcade and all we found was this tourist information place . had no choice but to go in there to ask them where the immigration department was . that place really made me feel like a tourist .. lol . it was quite odd .

after some more walking , we finally found the immigration place and it turns out it was actually really near to where we had parked the car ! hmm . the wait wasn't that long and besides , we had wonderful morning tv to entertain us (it was this saddle club-esque kids show that was set on a space ship . *oo* futuristic ...) . there was also this little saying on a wall somewhere : we all smile the same language (cue : cheesy smile) . so yeah . our number was called and there she was , the lovely sharon . hahahah . hmm . didn't particularly like her at first , wasn't exactly the most warm and welcoming person .

there was even an interview . well a brief one anyway . we just had to learn our responsibilities and privilleges as an australian citizen . so all in all , that took us about an hour and a half . went to have jap for lunch after that . mmm .

got home and went to take a nap while lynne and mum went out to run some errands . AND i distinctly TOLD lynne to take the keys with her because i was gonna lock the door . the nap was good , until about 15 mins before i was supposed to wake up ... you see , mum had to call the house cos they couldn't get in . but of course , i was sleeeping so i couldn't hear the phone ring . so what did she do ? she went round the back and banged on the glass window really loudly , asking me to open the door . don't get me wrong , this wasn't mother's fault - it was that dumb f*** of a sister's . geez . and she was still upset at me when i reminded her that that was the reason why i told her to take the keys with her as she was leaving . sometimes i wonder .

managed to watch Passions (shut up grace , YOU are my passion for life . hahaha) and yeahh , luis finally met sheridan ! lol . i'm such a housewife , i know . but it was quite exciting and i think timmy the midget is finally going to die . *gasp*

reading this book that mum brought back from singapore called "Scribbles from the Same Island" by neil humphreys . it's quite amusing . lol .

well yes . that is my contribution of the day . i think i might do some work tonight , have quite a bit to do . school starts on tuesday - ahhhh .

 

okk . so i've finally done a study timetable , let's just hope i stick to it . had a pretty productive day today - managed to do quite a bit of applic , did the timetable ... ah yes . and i watched oprah too . lol . today's episode was about this new reality tv series in the US about living in colonial times . meaning that some people actually left the comfort of their homes to go live in this small ulu town , living just like their forefathers did . hmm yeah . ok , so maybe it wasn't that productive but i did more work today than i have during this entire holiday .
 
o and i had this sudden craving for mushroom soup . so i satisfied that craving for mushroom soup , making myself feel extremely sick . lol . now i know that when the can says 'serves 2' , it really does serve 2 . had to lie down for quite a while after that lunch , and then i decided to clean my room . well the mess on the floor anyway . 
 
just realised that i'm not going to have much of a life once term starts *cries* . study , and more study .  sooo much work to do and all . -sigh- i feel quite depressed just thinking about it . but there's just sometimes when all i want to do is give up . but no , i can't .  i'm just trying to tell myself that if i work really hard for the remainder of this year , then the trip back to s'pore (and possibly jakarta) will be well-earnt and deserved .
 
i'm probably not making much sense at the moment cos my brain feels a little dead . well . i might go to bed soon or something . got to wake up earlier tmr . and by earlier , i mean at about 9-ish . (i'm usually only up at about 1 or 2pm during the holidays , you see)  off to grace's house to start on our econs oral presentation . gee , the thought of working on an assignment just sounds exciting . doesn't it ?

i don't know what it is , maybe my period's coming or something . you know how there are just some days where you can't help but frown and be grumpy ? well , today was one of those . various people/things just got on my nerves .
 
dad - i know it's in his nature to be anxious/worried/paranoid , and i know that he's just being a caring and concerned parent . but if you put those two together , it's just an irritating combination . so yeah . besides , i find myself getting worked up and annoyed every time he talks to me . i really don't know why .  i guess i should try to be more tolerant .
 
people in love - it's not their fault , i know . i might have been that way as well , but i'm hoping that i wasn't (although i probably was) . i'm not angry or jealous , it just gets a bit annoying after a while when it gets to a point where a) the topic of conversation is only about (insert name here)  b) if there is another topic of conversation , it'll eventually lead to (insert name here) .
 
now don't get me wrong . i'm happy for people in love , cos i know how it feels . and yes , it feels wonderful and you feel as if everything is going right . but just know that not everybody feels the same way you do . after all , some of us are getting over recent break-ups and haven't found anyone new yet .
 
channel 9 - perhaps they should get their act together and stop showing re-runs of various shows . e.g.
1) they haven't even finished showing the last season of Friends , and yet they're currently airing 'favourite episodes of each Friend' . 
2) in the past year or two , they have never gotten round to showing current episodes of Frasier . instead , they just keep showing repeats .
3) stop taking over the gilmore girls timeslot on saturday !! it would be nice if you could air an episode every saturday . i can't wait any longer to see Jess (he's coming back !!) , and it's such a waste of time to air movies that have been aired every single year . i.e. the wedding singer , chicken run ... good movies , but i think we've all seen em hundreds of times .

mum's coming home tmr ! *yay* i'm so glad she's coming home . feels like it's been ages since she left , when it's only been about 2 weeks or so ? hmm . but that means we have to do one of those major clean ups tmr morning .
 
went for body combat today and it made me feel good - mostly because i was feeling a bit irritable and so punching and kicking is a very good way of venting one's frustrations . felt a bit sorry for steve (or dean ?) , the instructor , cos he's had to do practically every single class for the entire week or so . then sometimes the mic fails on him and so he has to yell . hmm , and yet he didn't really look overly tired or anything .
 
ahh . i'm feeling kind of bored at the moment . my msn games buddy is busy ... *noo* . lol . i'll probably go entertain myself with i-sketch or something . it's really fun and addictive - like all online games are .

today's city trip was pretty alrite . i actually bought stuff . yay . MORE earrings and a top . ah yes , and we also watched 'van hellsing' at picadilly . quite glad that we didn't watch it in the actual cinema cos that we would've wasted $11 . wasn't that great a movie , but at least hugh was still pretty hot . heh .

too . much . sugar . makes . my . head . hurt . went to watch 'king arthur' just now with nette , stu , grace and their friends . was a pretty good movie i would say . my only complaint is that the hot ones died . i was quite upset . (*swoon* : ioan gruffudd , mads mikkelsen , hugh dancy !)

hmm . the earlier part of my day was quite mundane . nothing exciting , really . the funniest thing was probably going grocery shopping with nette . lol . we had to buy at least $30 worth of stuff cos that way we could get a voucher for petrol . it was ironic -just when dad was asking us to spend money , we couldn't seem to find much to spend on .

by the time we bought whatever we needed , the total was only about $9+ . sooo , we decided to buy butter for stu (cos i remembered he needed some) and we bought sanitary pads . thank goodness for sanitary pads ! lol .

met daryl and jeremy as well . i must say though , that they looked a lot better in pictures that i've seen . but at least i was still trying to be nice , talking to them for a while and all . didn't stay to talk for very long cos nette was waiting , and the conversation was sort of going nowhere . but yes , they did look better in pictures . hmm . daryl's still the nicer one though , jeremy still strikes me as being slightly unfriendly and a bit up himself - although i don't really understand why .

finally going to the city with grace tmr ! can't really buy anything though , cos we're both of kind of broke . i might just get some accessories from 'diva'- my new favourite shop . lol . ah yes , and il gelato perhaps ! mmm . there should always be time for gelato . or coffee .

AND HE HAS A POSE ! i love his pose . i might just adopt it as my own . *snigger*

am currently trying to fight the temptation of eating brownies that grace and i made yesterday . it was one of those betty crocker ones (just add water , you know?) , but still pretty good . we were quite desperate , cos they don't sell chocolate pudding at Brumby's any more . how upsetting .

geez . someone really needs to teach my father how to wake people up properly .

about half an hour ago , i was woken up an hour early because my dad was leaving for the office . he called the heating-repair people and they said they'd be here around 10am . but since my father has always been one to be paranoid/anxious/worried/kiasu , he told me to get up just in case they came early .

see , normally i wouldn't mind doing this . but it's just HOW i got woken up . o you know , just the usual way he wakes people up : knocks on the door loudly , opens the door and then starts talking to you in his normal (loud) voice . and then when you try to pretend you didn't hear him , he just yells your name until you get up .

so i crawl out of bed and get into the shower . just when i'm about to finish , i hear my dad talking to me asking me if i'm nearly done because he's already leaving the house . (he wants to make sure that i hear those people knocking)

it would be a lot easier if we still had a doorbell ! what happened to it you ask ? well , it's just not working . i can't remember why , but i think installing the alarm might have had something to do with it .

so yes . it's 9.34am and i'm up . have to ask grace to come over here first instead of meeting down at the shops , because those heating-repair people can be quite unreliable and come about 1 or 2 hrs after the appointed time . how fucking annoying . those heating-repair better come i tell you .

anyway , since i'm up , i might as well try and be productive . gonna go do some applic or something .

and so the weekend has come to an end . that means that starting from tmr , i have to study and do work ... every day . really not in the mood to do so . -sigh- but i have to . i should .

well . grace is going to come over tmr , and i think she's staying over . going to spend the entire day and night watching movies ! *huzzah* but we're going to do some applic before that though , because i don't understand continuous random variables . at all .

i'm feeling quite tired and yet i don't want to go to bed . yes , that is quite strange . anyway , today was quite an uneventful sunday . spent most of the day in front of the tv , watching 'angels in america' - this miniseries that was ABC some time ago . still not done yet though , there's only one more part to watch . o and no , christian wasn't there today . (sorry msn games buddy , i didn't get to have that conversation) the rest of his family was there though . and i must say , he looks a lot like his dad - except wayyy better looking of course .

music camp 2004 has to be the best one so far . and i'm not just saying that cos i'm in year 12 and it's our last year and blah blah blah . it was really the best one we've had so far and it's all thanks to amy and jill who did a wonderful job of organising such fun activities and everything . anyhooo , i feel like typing lots so i shall tell you all about music camp (unless of course you were there with me , then this entry would be sort of pointless) .

thursday:
the day seemed to pass by quite slowly at first , with lots of interruptions between classes cos of photo-taking for the yearbook (or annual, whichever you like) . really hope that my picture turns out ok ... i mean , nobody wants to be remembered for having a terrible photo in the yearbook now do they .

anyway , i left class a bit early at the end of the day so that i could get my stuff ready and everything . and of course by then i was really really excited about going to camp , because something happened in the Loo household that morning that really upset me and wrecked my entire day .

everyone had to help get bags and sleeping bags and etc on to the coaches and as usual , it started to rain very heavily . i distinctly remember this happening last year as well . soo everyone was soaking wet by the time all the bags and stuff were on the coaches , ready to go .

the bus trip felt very long , all 2 and a half hours of it ( i'm estimating here ) . listened to music , talked to grace and tina , ate , drank and slept . the sleeping was a bit of a problem after a while because 1) the first time i tried to sleep , i opened my eyes and found ALL the other year 12s staring at me laughing . why ? well apparently i had a funny frown on my face as i was sleeping . 2) the year 9s on the bus with us were singing in unison for about 45 mins ... the singing wouldn't stop ! not only were the songs annoying , their voices weren't exactly the most angelic things one would like to hear .

arrived at New Norcia and it was dinner time - apricot chicken . i remember . lol . ended the night off with the entire camp watching 'Finding Nemo' together , but i was so tired i fell asleep halfway through .

friday:
woke up at ... hmm . 7 or so ? i really can't remember . breakfast was alrite . finding it difficult to recall what we had for breakfast that morning ...

we got our programmes and concert band was up first . followed by choir and then swing band and then massed choir . so yeah . that was basically what we did friday and saturday .

friday night though , was the quiz and games night . the quiz questions were random and very entertaining and i was in one of them : "who is the shortest year 12?" after that everyone turned around and looked at me , some even pointed . so there you go .

the games in between rounds were amusing to watch , and the bonus question rounds were hilarious. lol .

after that , we spent quite a fair bit of the night sitting around talking and eating . i had the pleasure of sitting next to uber nerd ( i won't mention names here ) who was talking AND laughing at a terribly high decibel . my ears were buzzing after that . although i did feel a bit sorry for her and tonia because everytime they said something supposedly funny , hardly anyone would laugh except them . but honestly , they're not funny people .

saturday:
got woken up at 6.45am by ms. oram . why : leah put a wig in her sleeping bag and so she just had to get us back for that . how : she turned on all the lights in the room . talk about painful .

finally got to breakfast . late - as usual . lol . i think it was pancakes ! so yummy . and of course , lynda ate too much because she thought she could handle two large ones . there was a hashbrown too . mm mm .

towards the end of the day , everyone was getting a bit cranky and short-fused . ms oram sort of lost her temper , and i was getting visibly annoyed with stupid things .

anyway . it was finally dress up and talent quest night ! lol . and yes , i was Cat in the Hat . jill was charlie chaplin (she really looked like him) ; amy was a cop (she reminded me of one of The Village People) ; grace was a court jester ; tina and heidy decided to be A cow (meaning tina was the bottom half) ; and uber nerd was a cortizon (aka prostitute from Moulin Rouge apparently ...) ; and tonia .. was a camerawoman . i shall not say anything .

all in all , a good night ! lol . our last night was a very memorable one , i must say (read: 7.30am insanity) . sitting there laughing at practically anything and everything anyone said , even though it was probably even wasn't that funny ! but o well . the weirdest thing was that at 1.30am , amy , kate and sarah woke up to go brush their teeth after being asleep since like 12am or so .

sunday:
that's this morning . got woken up at 7.15am and breakfast was at 7.30 , so there wasn't enough time for a shower . yes , that's gross . i know . breakfast was alrite , all of us were kind of sitting there half asleep .

went for mass at the chapel . New Norcia belongs to a monastary btw . so yeah , mass was boring . everyone was falling asleep . the only cool thing i find is the pipe organ . i'd really like to play one of those .

the final concert went very well ! : ) but then it also meant that music camp was ending and so the year 12s were kind of sad (read: there was crying involved) .

still feeling sad that that was our last music camp together . feels kind of weird too , not being at camp . it's 11.10pm and at this time , we'd be in our room talking/eating . -sigh-

anyhooo , still have school tmr and there's still tons of work to be done . soo off i go ! : )
