It is cold & rainy .
I think i'm falling sick ... AGAIN .
ASIA2212 assignment due tomorrow, got a long way to go :(

I'd much rather curl up on the beanbag with a cup of hot tea & watch tv. But then again, anything's better than assignment-ing . I hate doing assignments.

City 2 Surf

Woke up at the ungodly hour of 5am today because we had to be at the starting line helpdesk by 6.15am. I am so glad that we didn't volunteer to be at the water station this year because the rain was pouring; it was REALLY windy; & not to mention cold.

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. I don't mind that people ask stupid questions, but it really pisses me off when they get narky because they didn't get the answer they were after. I also noticed that rain makes people smell damp - it is a horrible smell, in case you are wondering. Apart from rain, people just smell weird.

For example ...
1) There were these 2 hot guys from the police force: they were tall, well built, had these nice broad shoulders & had the most striking facial features. But the moment they walked past me i smelt their odour and it was such a turn off.
So hot, but so odd smelling. Damn .

2) This hippy-looking man who used a garbage bag for a poncho. He was in such a hurry, even though it was an hour until the 12km walk/run started. Messy curly grey hair, garbage bag for a poncho, crazy eyes ... couldn't quite put my finger on how to describe his smell (apart from unpleasant, that is).

Some people also need to learn about personal space. It's so uncomfortable when they talk really close to your face; look you right in the eyes; and move closer each time you try to create more space.

On the whole today was fun :) Went for Pancakes at Carillion after since we were so early & it made everything worthwhile. It was also exciting to be at the starting line cos you got to see all the runners getting ready and stuff.

Was disappointed that none of us brought a camera :( Grace's ran out of battery from the night before & our charger is lost so i haven't been able to use it. Poo.

Oh yes, our new tv has been installed ! Been watching DVDs to enjoy the large plasma experience.

Alrite well off to bed. First day at the office tmr, can't wait till i get paid.!My bank account is in its most miserable state right now.

Finally, we have internet again !

The house is undergoing renovation so we've had to pack things away in boxes; move furniture around; walk around in slippers cos the floor is dusty; and all those other things that go with renovating a house .

Mum decided to remove all the carpet in the house and replace it with timber flooring . It all started when the parents' room got flooded due to a burst pipe. The carpet was soaked right through so they used the vacuum cleaner to suck up the water & this was when they realised 1) how filthy the carpets have become 2) how much bacteria gets trapped in carpets .

All this time while we had to move out of our rooms temporarily and i felt like i was in a school camp - sleeping outside & not being to change & get ready in my own room. Anyhow, we also used this as an opportunity to rearrange our rooms and throw out junk. Moved back into my room yesterday and i sat on my bed, feeling as though i had just moved into a new house .

Hokay, time to unpack more boxes ...
Why do i have so much stuff ?! It's ridiculous .

Oh yes, one more thing . I know it's very teeny-bopper of me, but i actually want to go see JT in concert :( Tickets for the general public come out tmr i think ... really hope there are actually tickets left !

Did it ever occur to you to stay out of my own damn business ?!
The generalisations people make when they don't know the whole truth really shits me .

Fucking hell .

I know it's human tendency to help 'fix' things out of your best friends' interests, but really, isn't it time you moved on by now?
If your friend really wants to (move on), why won't you?

So last night turned out to be a surprisingly good night. The jugs of beer were never-ending; the music wasn't too bad; the german tourists were amusing; & most importantly the birthday boy Daryl had fun.

There are no photos cos none of us brought a camera ... The promo people at Hip E did take photos of us, but i don't suppose that counts.

Okay! Off to watch some Oprah & eat some lunch, I AM STARVING.

Arghh, will someone please stop me from shopping online ?! I just can't help myself.

I know i've been eating all day, but i'm really craving prata right now! Note to self: should dress more appropriately for weather so that i don't have to eat constantly to keep warm .

August, September & October are the killer months. Everyone seems to be born during this time! I have to say that this one of those times i'm thankful for Friendster - at least i have reminders of when people have birthdays. I realise that makes me a bad friend for not remembering birth dates, but i'm trying my best!

Had one of those future talks today. You know, one of those i-wonder-what-we'll-be-like-10-years-down-the-track kind of talks. That would make me 30, and it would be interesting to see what everyone's up to.

Anywayy, it's Daryl's birthday today so a few of us are heading to Hip-E club where Long will get us free drinks (he works there, you see). Huzzah, cos i am very very broke at the moment.

Had a good night's sleep & woke up before noon. Managed to get a whole bunch of things done except calling up Unis in China. Right now it is a toss up between ones in Shanghai & Hangzhou, but didn't get any info cos nobody answers their phone !! It was 11.45am, what could they possibly be doing - it was too early for lunch ... perhaps there is a public holiday that i'm unaware of .

The parents have decided to rip out all the carpet & get timber flooring instead, so it looks like we will have to live out of boxes for the next 2 weeks. Still haven't started packing things in my room though. I hate packing, it is the most annoying thing ever.

I'm really craving durian at the moment :(
The only durians they have here are frozen ones, which obviously don't taste as good. When Julie & I go to sg for holiday, we're going to eat durian till our noses bleed, yum :D (to the durian-eating, not the taste of blood)

It's only week 4 of uni and i want out. Holidaaaaaays please come soon!

Saturday, August 04, 2007

And so it is the end of the 2nd week of uni . Time seems to be passing by so quickly . Once again, it is Saturday

This next week is going to be a stressful one with the Charity Dinner on Friday . Speaking of which, my dress arrived the other day and it fits perfectly :)

Getting real pissed off with Lotons (the stock taking company), so i've decided not to bother replying to any of the emails. They have this new policy where you're supposed to reply by Monday, letting them know what jobs you can make. I always reply before Monday, but I never seem to get any of the jobs because

"Unfortunately the job/s you have requested have been fully staffed and we will not require you to work on this occasion.

We try to be as fair as possible when allocating places on jobs. Providing you continue to be reliable and readily available for jobs, I will attempt to book you onto jobs in coming weeks. If any other work arises which is not listed we may also contact you."

Such bullcrap. I've always been readily available and reliable for jobs, what are you talking about?! I've been to every single shift i've requested, pffffft.

Ahh well, at least i'll be starting work at dad's office next week. Money money money, at last! My bank account's been miserable since i've quit Woolies & come back from China earlier this year.

Oh yes, Mum's finally going to make egg tarts today.
My favourite :D
