*p.s. dear mister yellow emoticon, happy 2 months! hope the celebrations were fun for you too. heehee.

photo paper smells like glutinous rice. mmm? not really. i mean i like glutinous rice, but just not a fan of photo paper smelling that way.

lalala. it is the 30th, which means tmr is the 31st! =D
big grin, indeed.

i am going to bed now.
goodNIGHT.

i wish there were more days like today - the weather was nice (not too hot, not too cold) and it was perfect picnic weather. didn't really have a picnic, but just lay on the grass at kings park. raaather pleasant, i say.

yes, i realise that people generally only talk about the weather when they have nothing interesting to say, and you would be correct. linguistics assignment is due tmr, again. haha. here we go again...
i hope jeremy (bubble boy) changes to 103 cos then i'll have someone to discuss the weekly assignments with.

speaking of linguistics, was kind of late for it today cos i had lunch with nette at Dome before and the food took aaages to arrive. lunch was good, even though we had to eat faster than usual. we enjoyed the honeycomb goldrush thorougly :) mmm... pat on the back for nette who suggested that we should eat at Dome.
anyhoo, had to walk really fast so that i wouldn't be too late to the lecture. got there and Shelly Harrison (yes! that's the gnome-like man's name) was only on the 2nd slide. it wasn't really one of his funny lectures though. ahhhwell.

alrite well i should get back to the assignment. tis the 1st one of the semester, so it's a pretty easy one.
i shall leave you with the phrase of the moment: chesty bits

heehee, now i got you thinking funny thoughts

i must say the lousy day got better, it must've been the lunch (even though i was being watched) and then the little retail therapy. ok ok, i know i wasn't meant to buy anything ... but i was feeling sad and i only walked into valleygirl with the intention of browsing. at least i didn't get shoes. haha.

today i managed to:
- not fall asleep during the not-so interesting lecture at 4pm
- remove the pink nail polish and replace it with copper
- see the funny, enthusiastic jap busker who sings very loudly
- help mum give samson's head a haircut (yes, the fur on his head was getting long and growing over his eyes). now i have strands of wavey dog fur all over my jumper
- step on something miscellaneous in the kitchen and i really hope it wasn't a cricket or something

that's as exciting as my life gets. which is quite sad.
weeell, i guess the most exciting thing right now are birthdays - everybody else's except mine. people are turning 18 all around me *shakes fist*
while birthdays are happy events, it also means more money spent on presents. thank god for the idea of sharing!

unsuccessful job applications: 1
roc candy only want people who can work full time. bahh. no free diabetes for my friends, i guess.

feeling a bit sick from that huge piece of toblerone i just ate. excuse me, while i sit here and let my tummy churn away...

yay! many thanks to yas for helping me fix the columns and what not. looks a lot better now :) the yellow emoticon is useful for many things, it seems. haha.

oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to nic-o-las for yesterday.
hehe hope you liked your hamper and the card. yeah i know you don't say that anymore ("one more man, one more"), but it's still funny. heard about your drunkenness- you and your playboy pjs. *snigger* and who was the one who said he wouldn't get drunk. although i must say your mum did look kind of nervous, and your sister's very cute :) oh and that girl you don't like kept saying she wanted children. HAHA. she's kind of scary and probably thinks she's cute or something.

anyhoo, i have learnt that late-night ice cream cravings are never good. that paddle pop (*yeah! super-duper yummy*) made my tummy churn. twas super-duper yummy, but just not at that time of night i guess.

bahh i'm tired but don't really feel like sleeping - not quite in the mood.

too emo, please go away

while looking for blogskins the other night, i decided to type 'red and black' in the search box. some skins that came out were quite nice, but there was a particular one that scared the shit out of me.

the description was an angry one, and i was curious so i clicked on the preview. what appeared on my screen was quite disturbing: the words were red and looked like blood, they said things like "i'm dying", "pain" and other similar sentiments. then on the right of the screen, there was a picture of some girl who seemed to be curled up in a ball with scars all over her semi-naked body.

eeeeeeeeee. *closes window immediately*
why so emo, why.
please stick to taking oddly-angled photos of yourself, that's less scary. thankyouverymuch.

bahh. i'm having a bad run in my scrabble games, seem to be losing games and stuff. getting horrible letters like all vowels and no consonents. maybe it's a sign that i should lay off the scrabble-playing for a bit. move on to other games or something. lol. who knows.

we started learning the dance for asia cocktail today. hmmm. that song has been stuck in my head ever since then, can't quite decide if that's a good thing.

ohh yes, i seem to be breaking out while my skin adjusts to the new products i am using. harold's friends have multiplied and one of them is happily residing near my lower lip - grrr. stupid friend of harold! don't know his name, but i'm sure we'll get acquainted soon enough.

ok well, don't know how to end this entry so i'll just trail off i guess ....

full of glee

in case you haven't noticed (and if you haven't, you'd be blind), i have changed my blogskin :) so yay for that.

just needs a few minor adjustments, like width of columns and stuff. but all that will be fixed in time, i just have to figure out how. seeing as how i'm terrible at things like that.

alrite, well that is all for now.
tag away!

yay, tmr is tute day! since there are no tutes in the 1st week, it means i don't have to go to uni! so yeah, time to catch up with grace or something. coffee or ice cream, or both. that means my 1st week of uni is over.

today was a pretty good day, perhaps the least boring day at uni this week (that's not saying much btw). but anywayyy, got a new linguistics lecturer and i still don't know his name - all i know is that he looks like a garden gnome. he's very amusing also, kind of like Daniel. it must be a requirement if you want to be a linguist, i.e. you must be eccentric and/or look funny.
*i will take a photo one day, so you can put a (not) name to the face. i will also find out his name cos that would be handy.

so yes. that was my day.
oh and what day would be complete without a giant sandwich - a soggy one at that. but hey, it was a giant sandwich nonetheless so it was eaten anyway.
ok off i go!
goodbye!

oh and 3 weeks till we leave for cologne. what excitement!

behold, the shoes!
my only complaint is that i have a very annoying timetable.
now i have no days off, and on 3 days (that's tues, thurs and fri) i only have to go to uni for ONE class on each day.
i'd rather i have my classes together, with minimal gaps. but guess what, i have quite a few long gaps! greeeat. what's most irritating is that not many people have the same breaks as me, so i'll be friend-less for most of them. let nigel no friends be my new name.
yas lent (or gave?) me his 2nd year chinese course reader to use, and the first chapter is on profiles where we have to fill in our own. i.e. height, weight, name etc etc. heehee. was reading through what he wrote and i didn't realise that he was that short and light before. unless he filled it in wrong or something. ohwell, i laugh at you anyway! HAHA.
ok, i shall say no more cos i realise he'll get me back for that. at least you grew taller and put on weight ... -smiles awkwardly-
am very hungry at the moment, i think it's cos i haven't snacked all afternoon. gonna go make myself a milo or something. mmm milo ...

the solution to a somewhat shitty day:
$10 shoes!!

thankyouverymuch jo for telling me about the shop. it looks so dodgy and i would've never gone inside. the place sells undies for $5 outside, for crying out loud!

huzzah for nice shoes and even nicer company :)

movie marathons are always great, especially when you have a Johnny movie. last night's Johnny movie was 'Cry Baby' - don't laugh. it was a prettyyy good movie and exceeded my expectations! haha. not to mention the number of quotes we got from it.

my favourite one so far has to be
wade "cry baby" walker: electricity makes me insane -rips shirt to expose hairy chest-
alison: but why, cry baby??
wade "cry baby" walker: electricity killed my parents
alison: you mean they were killed by the electric chair?

HAHAHA.
the first thing i thought of, was actually that his parents had been struck by lightning or something. that seemed like a more obvious answer to me. but anyhooo...

we also watched 'the shining' - but the wrong version. stupid spielberg version sucks. it was scary to begin with, then the ending just got progressively worse. oh and i really don't lke the little boy who played Danny, he was rather ugly and sounded like he had a permanent cold. the worst bit would probably have to be at the end when Danny is shown to be graduating with Honours.

he sees an image of his dad standing there telling him congratulations and that he's proud of him. after standing there for a long time smiling, Danny clenches his fist and says, "so that's what i've been missing."

OH GOD.
there was a lot more horrible dialogue, but yeah. i was disappointed.

shall go nap soon, so that i can stay up tonight :)

stupid power trips!! i shake my fist at you in much anger. BAHH.
okk, now i shall have to retype my entire entry. -insert little angry yas emoticon here-

a few things i learnt today:
-> bowling is rather fun
1) i'm not as awful at it as i thought i was. there weren't too many of those "oh dear, missed!" moments - jo would be proud, that i am sure.
2) people are funny when they bowl.
3) when bowling balls roll onto your foot, it can be very painful. (right nic? heehee)

-> durian shakes are oh so yummy!
props to eric for finding it in the menu - it was very worth it. mmm...

mmm. came home and had self-saucing chocolate pudding :) once again, MMMM. i realise there are many tasty things in this world. haha.

had vietnamese (food) for dinner. i was just going to say vietnamese, but that might have meant that we actually had some vietnamese people for dinner. anyhooo, there was a waiter who looked like Tony Le - that guy from the world poker tour. he was skinny, had the same hair and was wearing a turtle neck. *snigger*
oh there was also another waiter who kept bringing the wrong food to our table. and no, we didn't take it anyway. (just in case you were wondering. oh come on, i'm sure you were)

yay for tmr - for it is another movie marathon day! :)
i'm sure it'll be good and i won't be disappointed, for sure.

i want to watch Sin City!! weekend maybe?? hmm. what are we doing on saturday anyway, guys?? last weekend before uni starts, oh poo.
on the upside, my timetable is pretty empty. huzzah!

found old photos of us in year 12. hehehe. seems so long ago we were in school. awww. looking at old photos is perhaps one of the oddest things. found some other old photos of us in year 11 at grace's birthday in the old Cafe 26. lol.

anyhoo, haven't updated in a while so this is just my way of saying yes, i am still alive! went to lunch with the lynne-sterr today and it was rather entertaining. that one is a strange child who also smells like donuts - i think she's been eating too many.

i want to listen to the strokes!! i miss my cds that are still sort of missing in action.
ohh and the weather is all rainy again. poo. hope it doesn't rain too heavily tonight or anything, don't fancy being caught in the rain while at dinner and stuff.

okk have to help clear the study out now, as renovations are going to take place tmr morning. goodbye and be careful!!

the world of online scrabble is full of odd characters, like that 43 year old widower who told me about his troubled 13 year old daughter.

this afternoon's slightly odd character is this 35 year old Californian who is one of those ignorant americans - he thinks that all aussies are "crazy nuts who like to get naked and do stuff". yes, that is exactly what he said to me. when asked where he'd heard that, the reply was, "oh you know, that's what THEY say." idiot. apart from that, he was nice and was perhaps one of the more friendly scrabblers i've come across.

anyhoo.
today was a nice day :) lunch at taka (taka's?) with grace and tina. haven't been out with them in a while, so twas nice to see them both.
hmm. i'm still burping karaage, at least it's not a bad tasting kind of burp. haha.
feeling rather sleepy so i shall go nap for a bit.

so asian

went grocery shopping with the parents just now, and dad insisted on using 2 trolleys - why? cos he was hoping to get 2 petrol vouchers. meaning that each trolley was filled with just over $30 worth of groceries. hmmmm.
at first when he insisted on using 2 trolleys, mother asked why and when she heard the reason she just rolled her eyes and then walked into coles. hahaha.

being cheapo asians (again):
we stopped by DonutKing cos they were having this deal where you get 2 free cinammon donuts with a cuppucino. this one i didn't really mind, cos both the coffee and donuts tasted yummy. lol. now my fingers smell like cinammon, which could be yummy too but licking ones fingers isn't exactly very attractive.

arghh. those shorts in Villains aren't on sale anymore. hixhixhix huahuahua or however else those cutesy retards cry (how bout BOOHOO?) -sigh- why must things in that shop be so over priced ?! why oh why. maybe someone will be kind and/or nice enough to sponsor some of it? ok, or not.

anyhoo. it is nearly 3pm, which means it's one and a half hrs till late-night shopping :) yay. i don't think i'll be buying anything, but hey, you never know ... i'm still being hopeful.

off to scrabble for a bit then maybe clean my room. apparently my desk cannot be seen. haha.

my parents are quite the loving couple -
mum: why are you looking at me?!
dad: jin sui ma... (very pretty what)
mum: kam sia la! (thank you la)

blaaargh. yes that is how i feel as i'm extremely full from dinner. too many fishballs (cos nette didn't eat hers) and mushrooms (that tasted slightly strange). i think yong tao fu has too many things made of fish paste, tou fu and miscellaneous bits - makes me feel all bloated.

ooh lookie, a collage of camp photos courtesy of tina!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

ohh yes and the lynne-sterr is sad that nobody responded to her personal ad. lol.

take me to the candyshop

asia camp was fun :) lots of drunken photos, movie clips etc. *snigger* i doubt photos will be up on this blog cos there are too many red-faced ones, and those are the most embarrassing kind. haha.

oh and happy one month for yesterday!!
sorry it didn't quite turn out like it should have, quite a disappointment really. but ahh well, we shall make up for it on saturday or something. just hope your car's ok. *pat pat*
