there's this new series called 'queer eye for the straight guy' on tv that started today. hehe. it was quite quite funny. these 5 gay guys give a horrible-looking straight guy a makeover - apartment and all. very amusing.

mmm mmm. the bbq was yummy. there was lots of food! *food glorious food*

boredom.

happy birthday to the Queen!
but i'm not even sure when the Queen's real birthday is. well whatever it is, today is the Queen's birthday in WA. not like we perthians will actually celebrate her birthday or anything, everyone's probably just happy that it's a public holiday.

anyhooo, we're supposed to have a bbq tonite. but mum's very upset and thinks that the weather bureau mixed up yesterday and today's weather report because it's not meant to be raining today, and yet it is. And yesterday was reported to have thunderstorms in the evening, but surprise surprise, there was none of that sort of weather. hopefully the rain clouds will clear son. *rain rain go away, come again another day*

oo! the sun's coming up!
oo k. better not jinx it.

indeed, today was an extremely fruitful day!
managed to get belated bday presents for tina and joanne.
also managed to go try on pretty clothes.. ahhhh. there's this really nice top from Portmans. but it's wayyyy out of my price range. grrrr. BUT i did buy something for myself. decided to buy this cd by some new jazz singer dude called Michael Buble [we think it's pronounced like how you would say cafe]. well i'm going to find out how it's supposed to be pronounced, but i don't think there's any way of making it sound any less silly. i really like his voice though, kind of reminds me of ewan mcgregor - i have no idea why. anyhoo, i'm quite happy with my purchase.

grace read in some magazine that chad michael murray might be going out with hillary duff! *screams* noooo!!! of all people... i really can't stand her. And besides, doesn't she realise that he's a bit old for her. and i thought that he'd have better taste. apparently not. -sigh-

ooo. michael buble went to s'pore. how unfair. hardly anyone comes to perth.

just got back from heidy's birthday dinner thing!
jap food was yummy. mmm. took some pictures! hehe. as usual. but i didn't bring a camera so i'll probably get the pictures off tina and heidy. went to gelare for waffles and ice cream after that. double yumm.

can't wait to go to the city tomorrow!! we're [grace and i] are going to try on clothes. hehe. i saw this really pretty pink/white stripey top. *squeals* i must try it on. got to go present-shopping too! i think i owe too many people birthday presents.

eeks. got blisters on my toes from wearing inappropriate footwear tonite. well, going to wear proper shoes tomorrow cos there'll be lots and lots of walking.

which reminds me, my legs need shaving. badly.

o and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to TINA!!
[even though she probably won't read this cos her internet's not working]
happy birthday any way!!

|

**new pictures added**
added some new pictures to the dinner dance 2003 link.
go have a look ! = )

lol.
samson's so cuteee.
but then again, what's new ?
he thinks his pig's ear is alive. silly doggie.

feeling really hyper and happy right now!
i think it's cos i have no hw!
FREEDOM!
well, i do have reason to be rejoicing.
tomorrow is the last day of school and i have no hw tonite!
and i don't have much hw for the holidays, cos god forbid - we do hw during the holidays!
now that is a major advantage to school here. the teachers tell us that the holidays should be a time spent with the family and not doing hw. but as year 11s, we still get holiday hw. just not too much of it.

anyhoo, i think i'll stop gloating now.
i apologise to anyone who has their exams soon.
sorry guys, didn't mean to rub it in.
all the best!

my eyes feel funny.
but i have to finish my RE assignment cos it's due tomorrow! Well, actually, in about 20 minutes [it's nearly 12 midnight].
spell check is telling me illustrationist is not a word. lol. the word is ILLUSTRATOR. under normal circumstances, i would have known that.

yay!!
only a cover page left!
*joy*

anyhoo, i'm off.
my eyes they burn...

oo!
i forgot to mention that we saw a couple of hot brazilian guys today!
there was some brazilian group performing some cool percussion and dancing and stuff. very cool. saw some guy who reminded us of johnny depp. mmmm. apparently his name's ricardo. we think. overheard some lady's conversation, she said ricardo and pointed to him. and he was just sitting there, looking very serious.

|

'pirates of the carribbean' is a really good movie!!
i'm sure grace will agree.
haha.
after all, her johnny depp is in it.
enjoyed it tremendously and i wouldn't mind watching it again either.
hmm. but johnny and orlando made a good team. *grin* i like orlando when he's not an elf.

my friend siao fui's going to japan tomorrow for some student exchange programme thing and so i met up with her for a while today and she wanted to take a picture. so she suggested that instead of taking a normal neoprint or love ghetty, we should go take a 'dream photo'. it cost us $10 each, which wasn't too bad. considering that the picture is airbrushed and stuff, and you can get at least 3 prints per person - either in colour, sepia or black and white. it was a bit weird at first cos we went on this long search for the shop and we later realised that it was disguised as a travel agency. [it even had travel brochures near the door!] it was all a bit odd. hmm. well we went in anyway and there was this guy smiling at us. just before we started taking the pictures, he said : "would you like me to close the door?" and so we started taking the pictures, it was pretty o k. felt like we were being exploited or something, you know ? lol. i just burst out laughing after a while, it just kind of funny how he kept telling us to "turn to the left", "turn your head", "move to the middle a bit more"... etc. siao fui colllected the photos for us cos we were in the movies, and she said it turned out really nice. well, we'll know for sure when i get them from her in a few weeks' time.

saw the trailer for matrix: revolutions today! *screams*

wow.
it HAS been a while since i last blogged, but nothing exciting is happening at the moment...
hmm.
well, congrateloootions to amy and jill for getting music captain and vice respectively!! = ) [i told you you'd get it amy...]

okae, this is pretty gross but apparently some girls clogged up the drainage system in the toilets near the canteen the other day, causing some excrement to ooze out of the toilet bowls. yuck. and so the other day, there was some guy who was draining all this waste matter - manually. double yuck.

played isketch just now. [if anyone wants to go play, it's at www.isketch.net] it's pretty coool. it's like pictionary but online. didn't think i could draw, but people could still guess what i was trying to draw so that was good.

we're researching on Dag Hammarsjold for our RE assignment. he was this guy who worked in the UN and he did lots of great, charitable things. he was also awarded the nobel peace prize post-humously. well it turns out that he was gay but it wasn't common knowledge because that would've affected his work and stuff. o but he was catholic. mrs. sawiris made us go look for evidence that he was catholic [she was pretty shocked at the fact that he was gay]. well he WAS catholic. he wrote some books on the eucharist and always mentioned god.

oo kie dokes.
getting sleeeeepy.
nite folks.

Tuesday, September 16, 2003

i just realised how terrible my sleeping pattern is.
hmm.
been sleeping late this past week and getting only about 6 hours worth of sleep.
but i find myself being unable to fall asleep any earlier.

anyhooo,
had our music captain speeches today.
lol.
wasn't too bad.
amy's speech was funny, even though she didn't really prepare anything. but still, it was funny cos she's just amy.

well nothing to say right now.
so i think i'll just go .
*waves bye*

half day tomorrow!
*joy*
we should finish rehearsals at the latest 1330.
we're either bumming around at tina's house or going to point walter to sit on the jetty, hoping that we'll get to see dolphins again.

o yes.
tomorrow's the day of the music captain speeches!
eeks
feeling confident but nervous.
hope all goes well.
i just want to do better than a certain someone.

the flight has been confirmed!
leaving perth on dec 12 and coming back here on jan 13.
that's about a month in s'pore.
*smiles*
can't wait!

Saturday, September 13, 2003

just got back from grace's party!
whoaa.
it was one hell of a party. *smiles*

the food was really great and dinner was fun!
there was ribs, pasta, salad [with cafe 26 salad dressing], fried fish, fried squid rings... and i think that was it. o, not to mention the yummylicious birthday cake : mud cake with vanilla ice cream. mmm mmm.
okae, enough bout the food.

*note: i'm about to blog about amy, because she really wants to be part of my entries. so amy, this one's for you...

my dad dropped us off at the cafe and before turning into the car park, we saw the nova 93.7 van. so when we got there, we decided to go see if we could get freebies or a chance to say something on radio. well, there was this game where we just spinned this wheel and when it stopped at a certain number, we'd get prizes. other people got free cds, but what did i get? i got a kiss from brandon. but i never got the kiss because grace won the kiss before and so it wasn't available any more. *phew* anyhoo, took a picture with the nova van and got some stickers.

dinner itself was fun, grace opened her presents and i took some pictures of her posing with her presents. tried to get amy to smile, but no... well at least she posed in one with joanne.
heidy burnt a cd with a whole list of songs that everyone wanted and amy's 2 songs were on it: 'fever for the flavour' and 'love' by nat king cole. AND THEN, she puts too much chicken salt into the basket of chips. extremely salty, but yummy though. mmm, i can just feel the hypertension creeeping up on me. oo! and i took a picture of mika, the little cousin whom grace babysits occasionally. she looks a bit like a spoilt brat, but she seemed pretty harmless tonite. apparently she's only bratty when you're baby sitting her.

after cake, which was at about 9.30, people started to leave and soon it was just me, tina, grace, stef, heidy, joanne and marsia. it was drizzling but we really wanted to go for a walk, so we took 2 umbrellas to share amongst the 6 of us and walked down rockeby road. [i think that was rockeby road anyhow..] was pretty cool, lots of party-goers wandering around and stuff. joanne wanted to be a tourist and asked this lady to help us take a group picture. the lady agreed and before we knew it, a whole bunch of middle-aged tipsy ladies [her friends] ran towards us wanting to be in the picture. so yes, we took a picture with a whole bunch of ladies we didn't even know. but it was pretty cool. and the funniest thing was, that they thought we were japanese! some other guys walked past us and yelled "good evening" in japanese to us, they were visibly disappointed when we yelled back: "we're not japanese!" . wandered around a bit more and took a picture outside Llama bar, pretending to be standing in line, waiting to go in. yes alrite alrite, now we're bordering on pathetic. but hey, it was fun at the time.

started to walk back to the cafe, not before passing dome and that's where we spotted the hot waiter. a h h a . anyway, took more silly pictures when we got back to the cafe. i.e. ones where we vogued and we also made grace look goth! she tried on her dark lipstick [it's very cool!] and joanne did her eyes. she looked pretty goth.. hehe. took a picture to give to her as a memento!

going to develop the pictures tomorrow, since grace and i will be at garden city - 8 hr sale!! alrite so i don't have money, but i love window-shopping all the same. = )
*yawn*
alrite, i'm off.
still gotta go to chinese school later on. [it's now 1256 hrs]

|

Thursday, September 11, 2003

had yet another research period for RE today.
and for joanne, that means another drooling session over pictures of hot male models.
lol.
all i can say is, don't get her started on them.
cos once she starts talking about them, she finds it very hard to stop.

yay!! it's grace's party tomorrow!!
i'm soo excited!!
but we have 2 tests tomorrow... eeks.
given up studying for econs tonite, i'll probably cram more tomorrow morning.
been at it all afternoon though. sort of anyway.

xin hui, our little niece, is really funny.
she runs like boo [from monsters inc] and she's wearing this huge jumper too.
i'm surprised she's not sleepy yet, really wonder how much sugar that little kid had.
she runs up and down, from the living area to the study area, stopping halfway to say hi to samson.
she tried to wipe her little kid bogies on me!! so i gave her a tissue.
hmm.
something smells.
i think she just farted.

my relatives arrived from s'pore today!
hehe.
the milder side of my father's family that is.
mainly hokkien/chinese speaking.. yeap. so that means having to communicate in chinese. lol. everyone's favourite subject.
saw my nephew for the first time. he's really cute! only a few months old i think.

oo!! oo!! i've found my music stations!! i discovered by accident that my radio was set to AM not FM. hmm. smart one da.

don't have much to say right now.
laters.

|

Tuesday, September 09, 2003

boooooooooooooooooooooooooored!

hmm
something weird's happened to my radio!
and i'm upset.
the music stations have mysteriously disappeared and i can't find them, all i can find are boring news channels. nooo!! *cries*
so now i have to rely on my own cds when i want to listen to music, and it gets annoying cos i have to get up to change the cd when it's finished playing. and, the hardest part is choosing the cd i want to listen to. the problem usually is that i don't know what i want to listen to. decisions decisions.

a h yes.
have to start writing my speech for next week.
nominating myself for music captain, which means that i have to promote myself in under 3 minutes. lol.
well at least i'm going about all this the proper way. i.e. not asking people to vote for me. o wait, not asking. more like going up to random people, HUGGING them and then saying "I LOVE YOU. please vote for me" my gawd. desperate for votes indeed.

samson's smiley face shirt shrank!
mum put it in the wash and it shrank.
lol.
but she somehow managed to squeeze him into it this morning.
according to her, he only "yelped" a little.

watched a really sad movie in RE today.
'Return to Paradise'.
-sigh- it's one of those depressing movies about capital punishment.
this one's set in penang, malaysia.
deanna yusof acted in an early scene and then there's a whole bunch of mutts [matts?].
"eh brudder, relac larh..."
no, they didn't actually say that but i was just making sure you knew what i meant.

o and i just one to complain about something.
most of the year 8s [sec 1 equivalents] are so annoying! not only do they have high-pitched voices, but they're also extremely inconsiderate most of the time. always blocking up corridors and talking really really loudly in the locker area, which isn't exactly the most spacious place. at the end of the day, you just want to get to your locker asap but it's almost impossible with all the year 8s crowding up the area. and what about their bags. o their huge bags. i don't even understand why their bags are so huge anyway, some of them look even more filled up than the year 11s and 12s! i'm just mostly annoyed at the fact that at least 3 year 8 girls have backed into me with their gigantic bag. okae, so maybe it has a little to do with my height but still, they don't have to look so taken aback when i scream *ouch* as i get shoved against a gross wall.

ahh.
that feels so much better.

the hip bone's connected to the... the red thing's connected to the wrist watch..

started learning about bones in human bio. our last topic for the year, and it's gonna be a really long one too! but we're going to the zoo in november to see the primates! *yay* zoo trip!

o look! it's mr mcgreg. with a leg for an arm, and an arm for a leg!

heh. sorry.
this sudden talk of bones and the skeleton has sparked off all these silly lines from simpsons.

really really full right now, feel kind of sick really.
i think we shouldn't laugh so much at dinner any more, it makes your tummy all sloooshy.
*slooosh* *slooosh*
but dinner was yumm.
it was quite funny though, me nette and lynne were laughing and laughing at stupid things and mum was just trying hard to ignore us.
hmm. i think it was the cheesecake we had in the afternoon.
speaking of mum, nette blogged about how silly mum was on a few occasions. worth a read i think. just go click on her link: lynette

anyhoo, going to see what all the commotion's all about.
hmm. apparently some guy's about to win a million dollars on 'who wants to be a millionaire'.
ooo.

ewan mcgregor looks so cuteee in 'down with love' !
quite the charmer too.
*smiles*
sugar + caffeine is quite a lethal combination.
lol.
was pretty hyper yesterday.
saw shaun at garden city and he was visibly freaked out by my hyperness.

there was this talent show thing at chinese school yesterday and it was quite sad. i mean it was good that those kids who went up had the guts to do whatever it was they were doing, but most of the performances were quite painful. some kids went up and performed 'jingle bells' on the keyboard, with random beeps coming from the recorder. *ouch* perhaps they should learn how to play in time too.

only some little kids came dressed up in their chinese costumes, but it was still very cute. i think they were just really happy because there weren't any lessons that day. and after school was over, there was some lady deep frying curry puffs outside the staff office. hmm. talk about random.

actually finished my hw for the weekend = )
i could hear the surprised tone in mum's voice when i said i was doing hw.
"you're doing hw?"
gee, thanks mum.

have soo many things on my wish list right now.
there's just one tiny problem, money.

oo! i'm going back to s'pore in dec!
*big grin*
i think it's time to start a countdown....

friday!!
*joy*

today in econs, this person was trying to be a rebel of some sort. -sigh- her strange behaviour's been getting to me and i've been holding in all the possible nasty comments until today. but there wasn't any full on bitching or anything. i think i might save that for another day. anyway, i decided to write the nasty remark on a piece of paper. i was halfway through when mr. flexman came by and my reflex action was to cover what i wrote. *slaps forehead* so then he got really curious and tried to snatch my book away from me but i refused to let go. it was a semi-tug of war accompanied by some protesting, from me.
"no mr. flexman! don't read it... please!"
i really didn't want him to read it out loud or anything, even though i referred to the person as "she". but still, i didn't want to risk anything. well i did tell him that it had nothing to with him, but he didn't give up. geez. he just sat on the desk in front of me for a really long time while i tried to get back to my work. and he was pretty sneaky, he tried to grab the book from my desk.
strange econs lesson.

went for body combat today too.
ahhh.
feels pretty good.
haven't been going and we feel so unfit.
hmm let's see, first time we've gone in what, a month??
eeks.
but it was a good work out today.
*smiles*

the little kids are supposed to dress up in traditional costumes for chinese school tomorrow!
hehe. how cute.

i'm so happy with myself!
managed to catch up on whatever we've been doing in accounting all this time!
and now i know what's going on in class.
half a cheer for da!
*hip hip hoo*

oo k.
done now.

yayy
the hale social isn't this saturday any more!
been waiting really really long for it to take place, and now it's cancelled.
but it's just as well, i wouldn't be able to attend it this saturday.
why ?
cos we're going for father's day dinner, and after all, family is more important.
isn't it.

arghhh.
hot day... again.
it's a bit hard getting readjusted to the change in weather, i guess it wouldn't be so hard if we didn't have to wear our bloody winter uniforms!
the heat's given me this throbbing headache.
geez.
been drinking lots of water all day, so it's not dehydration.
just heat.
i know i'm being whiney, but i can't help it.
this headache's getting to me.

today being the 1st of september, is the first day of spring!
hmm.
spring.
flowers and mating animals come to mind.
well winter's just ended and all the animals have come out from hibernation. i'm sure they're going to be somewhat frisky after being cooped up all that time.

anyway,
i thought today was quite a hot day.
well hot in comparison to other days. but after all, winter is officially over.
i guess that was the reason for my shitty moood.
but after a nice shower and some caffeine, i felt much better.
caffeine. mmm.
