i'm tired .
so much running around today - all because the intermediate chinese class i was enrolled in was too easy for me (apparently , anyway) . this dr gary sigly "tested" me by making me read this passage that was fairly simple and so now i'm not allowed to be in chinese 103 .

then later , wang yi the co-ordinator , tells me to go for chinese 108 which is the class for specialist chinese and native speakers . erm hello ? my chinese grammar is so terrible and i'm not even that fluent . so i ended up sitting in that class feeling extremely incompetent and clueless . . ohhh my , the teacher (wang lao shi) had this very thick chinese accent which i couldn't really decipher . lol .

soooo now i have to apply to change my units . grrr . and i actually have to go to uni tmr , even though i wasn't planning to . how irritating . the most annoying thing is that now that i'm in chinese 205 , my timetable will clash ! -sigh- and there i thought i had it all sorted .

hmm . oook sorry , i just really have to rant cos i spent like an hr just trying to sort out the whole thing with the chinese . now my feet kind of hurt cos i had to walk to and fro so many times .

bright side though :
the other lectures today were ok . had my first french lesson today and i'm quite excited already ! hahah . the teacher's name is Micheline (yes , as in the tyres) . she's quite a funny old-ish lady .

well , bbq later on cos my cousin and her husband are here on honeymoon from s'pore . yay ! food ! hungry + frazzled = :(

twas O day today and it was so freakin hot . but i'm not sun burnt , huzzah ! hmm . uni starts monday ... no more long holiday (everyone : awwww ...) . ahhh well , hope monday will be a good day and i hope i don't get too lost . plan to get there slightly earlier so i have time to look for the lecture hall .

i've recently discovered play.games.com and i'm addicted ! i'm so addicted , it's not funny . i'm actually dreading the days that i won't be able to sit in front of the computer till the wee hours of the morning , playing scrabble/boggle/battleship or some other random game . haha . sigh , yes , that is the sad truth .

while playing those games , i've observed that people there like to type things like : gg (good game) , gl (good luck) , ty (thank you) and so on . i'd like to say that i know more of these silly abbreviations , but i don't . so i'm sorry if you found that disappointing .

you know what , i still don't understand why asians feel that they have to type LiKe tHiS . i don't see the NEED to . i mean the most obvious reason why , would be that you want other people to actually understand what you are typing (without getting the biggest headache ever known to man) . aargh . it irritates me so . typing in that matter doesn't make you more asian or more cutesy . . geez .

okk well i'm done with my little rant .
*p.s. i didn't mean to offend anybody who reads my blog and types in that manner . although i know for a fact that most of my friends don't - thank goodness .

huzzah !

finally had my chocolate sundae from gelare . ahah . hmm except i'm not very satisfied . feel rather cheated actually , cos there seemed to be more cream than actual ice cream .
anyhooo , next time we should remember that ice cream makes us fat . then perhaps we will not pig out . although i'm pretty sure that the next time we go , the same thing will happen .

we got there earlier than usual at about 9pm , and it was so freakin crowded . had to drag chairs and sit around this small square table meant for 4 people . lol . most of the people there were asians , yes yes , we are very cheapo - taking advantage of half price waffles and what not . oh of course, the himbo-ness that lies within alex strikes again ! very amusing though . he was actually smarter than usual tonight . hahha . but still , that's not saying much .

and and , grace said , "wha i do declaaare , mr____" . so we (jo , grace and i) were sitting there trying to recall where we had heard that line . thanks to google , and grace's trusty fingers , we now know that the line is from 'gone with the wind' .

so there we go , 2 things to huzzah about . lol .
okae well driving lesson tmr - might be doing parking . hope all goes well .

dad's surprise birthday party was a success :)
we all had leftovers for lunch and now i is eating cake ! (mango cake , that is) very nice . mmm . i like the corner pieces the most cos of all the cream and nuts .
anyhooo , lots of pictures/videos were taken . i'm sure they'll be uploaded sometime or other .

ohh ohh the musician for the evening , Roy , played the most obiang songs ever . hahah . especially cos he had a synth with all the funny rhythms and stuff . the poor guy though , not many people were game enough to start dancing - only mum & dad , ee & uncle david , auntie betty & uncle winston . was quite cute , all these couples trying to recall the dance steps from their ballroom dancing lessons .

the most annoying thing ever :
lynne is popping bubblewrap and apparently she's been going at it all morning . thank goodness i wasn't awake when it started . it's funny to watch her though , cos she concentrates so hard on the popping . hmm but somehow the popping gets louder and faster each time ... aaaaaaaargh . i just want to strangle that bubblewrap-popping ... thing .

even mother is yelling (in her most ah soh voice) , "ah ger ! you ke yi ting le leh !" (in other words , "ah ger , you can stop now ok!")
oh good , she's almost done with the sheet of bubblewrap . it's actually a really big sheet ... gosh .
*just a side note - sometimes the word 'popping' came out as 'pooping' when i typed that paragraph . heh .

so that was dad's birthday . later on , the whole family went to this cny banquet cos mum and dad bought tickets from church . the food was not too bad and the company at the table was pretty alrite too - a little awkward at first but the more people arrived and our table was full . fr dat sat at our table as well and provided comic relief . lol . silly priest . but all in all , dinner was pretty good .

then they embarrassed dad by singing happy birthday so the entire restaurant turned around to look at our table . the boss lady even brought out ice cream in the shape of a peach with a candle in it , and played this tacky happy birthday music . ahhaha . and yes , the ice cream was quite nice .

ooh grace and i watched 'Grind' today - tis a skater movie starring adam brody . so many hot ones in the movie ! hahah . discovered joey kern ! he's so hot .

well anyway , that was my day .
surprise party for dad tmr ... quite excited . but still don't know what to wear .

huzzah ! the supre trip was successful !

wanted to get this $10 dress , but decided that 3 items from supre was too much . lol . one should never have too many clothes from there . plus , the material felt very cheap and uncomfortable ... i don't really understand how people can shop there so often . it's a bit like this fashion , where you can only go once and that's when you would find some nice and/or wearable items .

anyhoo , today was really hot ! reached a maximum of 42 degrees apparently . my my , bush fires even .
well today was fruitful :)

officially the worst day

ok , so it's valentine's day and it's supposed to be all happy and cheery but it's not .
because :
1) it's that time of the month
2) the day seems neverending
3) it's really hot and humid
4) i didn't get to change my s'pore currency cos of the horrible exchange rate
5) it's tense in the loo household
6) my driving lesson wasn't too great today
7) samson wouldn't stop barking all morning
8) couldn't shower before the driving lesson this morning cos the insulation was being installed and so there were guys walking in our roof .. so i felt dirty .
9) the air con in this house isn't working very well
10) i'm bothered and i'm bleeding !! (sorry for that , too much info i think)

so there you go , not-so-happy valentine's day to everyone !

anyhoo , the weirdest thing i saw today :
a fairly well-dressed old man in rollerblades skating down the slope outside our house - wind blowing in his hair/moustache and everything .

and that is all i have to say .

well i watched 'unfaithful' on tv just now . man , really got me thinking about all kinds of things - very scandalous movie , i say . but also , olivier martinez is so damn hot ... he's french and has an accent !! kylie minogue is one lucky lucky bitch .

anyhoo . it's valentine's day so happy valentine's day , you guys !
no plans involving dates , just money . mm . supposed to go to supre but jo has her murdoch orientation , so she might be too tired after . ahh well . there'll be other days . perhaps will just meet grace for coffee/tea/ice cream then .

didn't plan to buy anything today , but i ended up buying a $30 top from jeans west ! it's brown and really nice . now i need some black beads to go with it . oh i also got myself a headband (it's stripey - red and pink) and a scarf/wraparound .

quite happy cos i still had money left after that . you see , i didn't actually take much money out cos i thought i wasn't going to buy anything . well , planning a trip to supre on monday with jo . hahaha . can't believe it ,but i'm actually excited about it cos i can't wait to find a nice summer dress ! anybody else want to come ?

i'm not a hundred per cent sure we're gonna find something decent , but hey , worth a try eh . it's more like a last resort for a cheap summer dress . not exactly a huge fan of the place especially since the ads on tv put me off - the prancing around with the "supre!" song in the background .

well 2nd driving lesson today and it was pretty fun . today she taught me 1st and 2nd gear and i actually used the pedals . woohoo . sort of getting the hang of it , just need more practise with mum :)

haven't had our reunion dinner yet , cos here in aussie land it is no public holiday - people still have work and school . soo we're just going to have it on friday instead , when everyone is free to stay late and stuff .

well . nothing much to report about my cny eve as it was spent bumming around at home . didn't end up going to diana (john)'s house ... got lazy and fell asleep .
AHHHH . i have to go for 8am mass with my parents tmr !! only cos we have something on in the evening and so it's just more convenient to go early in the morning . haven't woken up that early in a while ...

oh but wait . i just remembered ! i cut my hair today . but it's too damn short la . haha . -sigh- so i'm sorry , but i refuse to take any pictures to post them up here . not until it grows out a little bit more anyway ... then i'm going to get it trimmed properly - the way i wanted it to be . going to change hairdressers i think , top image is just too expensive and i'm not too happy about the recent haircuts .

just got back from my first driving lesson and it was quite fun ! haha . the instructor, cheryl (sheryl?) , is a nice old-ish lady and she gave me skittles at the end of the lesson ... as expected . i'm quite happy though , cos she said i was better than most Learners on their first lesson :)

it was only steering though , no using gears or anything . still quite bad at turnng corners though , kept going on the wrong side of the road after turning . lol .

even got hw for the next lesson which is on thursday . soooo have some reading to do and stuff . well gonna do some work for dad now , more looking through the phonebook for me ! i usually amuse myself by laughing at the ppl with silly surnames like Hannibal , but hey , i'm just returning the favour cos my surname is usually laughed at and made fun of .

so before you think of any more Loo jokes , i'm sorry but you're too late . i've heard most of them already . haha . well if you do think of a good one though , don't hesitate to share .

aaaaaaaaaargh , i'm irritated .
but i have no idea why - everyone who talks to me or is around me seems to get on my nerves . maybe it's cos my period is coming and so the hormones are making my moods swing .

anyhoo , watched 'the untouchables' (the movie, not series) just now on teevee and i think i've become a mafia movie fan ! haha . yes , they're violent ... but that's part of the reason i like them . they're also exciting and i dig the whole trench coat and hat look . haha .

tried watching 'the king and i' - the classic version , but i got tired of trying to decipher what the freakin king of siam was saying and/or singing . lol . started reading 'a series of unfortunate events' by lemony snickett instead . lynne's always had those books but just never got round to reading them , and they're pretty good :) i like his writing style .

i'm so happy . will finally get to eat my pancakes and other breakfast-type food tmr :) and perhaps if we have room later on , gelare for dessert ! mmm . such piggles , but hey , we don't have anything else to do tmr anyway .

jo's on her way back to perth now too ! yay . got so much to update each other on , can't wait to meet that girl . didn't end up going to the city to meet sarem today , cos i was feeling kind of lazy and i got a headache from the msg that was in the cup noodles i had for lunch .

nothing exciting happened today .
apparently it was 38 degrees , but hey , i wouldn't have a clue . why ? cos i didn't leave the house at all today . haha .

woke up at 1.30pm and then spent the rest of the afternoon printing dad's brochures . i think i've pretty much recovered from the lack of sleep from the night before . stayed over at tina's house and only had 5 hrs of sleep . haha .

there's something wrong with this computer ... everything's getting slow and all . hmm . hope it's not a virus or anything . plus , can't seem to play any cds either . grr . ooh ooh , i start my first driving lesson on monday ! quite excited about it , and i hope i don't kill anyone/anything .

this is totally irrelevant to the above , but feeling rather distant from a so-called close friend now . i'm sure it's not intentional , but it seems as though she doesn't really want to go out since another friend isn't going . i don't really get it . i know it's not her fault that she's hardly here during the holidays , which is the time that everyone gets to spend quality time with their friends and all . sometimes i wish we could be closer , that's all .

i also find it rather strange how we run out of things to say to each other . we don't even spend that much time together , and yet after a while , we somehow have nothing much to say to each other . friends don't necessarily have to like the same things , but i suppose it helps if they do . i guess that might be one of the reasons why .

well i'm glad jo will be back tmr night :) haven't seen her in ages . yay . kind of miss those late night adventures and stuff . haha . got lots to catch up on .
ok , tummy hurts so i'm going to get a hot drink - something to soothe those gastric juices .
