marsia's mum bought us brunch at burswood today.
had dim sum at genting palace.
hmm. well it wasn't too bad, but i must say that it's quite ang moh-fied.
and the waiters had this weird waistband thing so it looked like they pulled their pants very high. silly uniform.

we [tina, diana and i] left at about 1230 cos we were going to the city to get my shoes. didn't know how to get to the city so we asked the concierge who this gay looking man with hair that was slicked back with lots of gel and VERY thin, neatly plucked eyebrows. *shudder* i was trying not to stare at his eyebrows too much. but he was soo unfriendly. what a bitch. he very clearly wanted us to take the tram from burswood which costs like $4. errr, no way i'm spending that much money on transport. so then we decided to walk out to the highway to take a bus or something, only to find ONE bus stop which only had TWO buses which looked like they never came. well then i thought since edo was already in the city, perhaps he could go to the transperth office to tell us what bus we could take. after telling us to walk 5 mins up the road, edo said that we could actually take a train from burswood. thank you. so off we went, walking BACK inside burswood to find the train station. thank goodness it wasn't too far away but by the time we got there we were perspiring cos it was kind of hot.

FINALLY got to the city and so the great shoe hunt began....
to give us an energy boost, we went to northbridge to get some bubble tea. and then we started the hunt in carillion city and went to m-phosis but the pair of shoes i tried on were abit small. but that was ok, cos it was just the beginning. -sigh- walked around alot after that and couldn't find the right pair. then edo said that Myer was having a sale ! ahh, i love the sound of that word. Myer was having a sale : 25% off on all open-toed shoes and sandals. *yay* went through the many racks and saw a few nice pairs of wraps but guess what, they couldn't fit cos my feet are fat. grrr. after about half an hour of searching, i was ready to give up... then tina spotted a nice pair of brown suede wraps. was so happy cos they were really really pretty, but the pair there was too small!! arghh. was getting a bit annoyed cos all the shoes i tried on seemed to be either too big or too small. boy, i really didn't know that shoe shopping was so tiring. found a pair of black heels that were soo nice and they were only half a size too big. well, the strap was adjustable so it wasn't floppy or anything. i asked the lady if there were any pairs in my size and she said the only ones in my size were SILVER. i wanted black. but the lady was really nice and she said that she could call the other Myer branches to check if there was my size... but thanks to my extremely bad luck the other branches didn't have my size!! i couldn't believe it, not one of those 4 branches she called had my size. geez. after considering, i decided to take the size 7 and a half pair of pretty black shoes. alrite, so they're half a size too big. but it's not that noticeable and the straps are adjustable! AND i really want them. so i got them. *hoooray* was really tired after that, and i was already running late. was meant to be home earlier cos dad was having a uni reunion so there was preparation to be done. only got home at 5, which was a bit late cos by then practically everything was done.
and so the great shoe hunt ended...

it's really funny to see a bunch of men in their 40s and 50s act like teenagers. dad's reunion was quite funny. conversations ranged from how much people have aged to hair transplants. o and of course there was the reminiscing of uni days and gossiping, filling each other in on what's happened to so-and-so.

all in all an interesting day.
