as expected, today was a pretty glum day and it didn't really feel like the first day of semester.
rained pretty much the entire day (it has finally stopped, though!) and there just had to be NO parking today at all. ended up parking at architecture and walking through the flooded pavement to main campus. having rain-soaked shoes and socks does not feel great, but at least julie was with me & we had umbrellas.

during my break, i managed to dry my shoes & socks a little using the heater in yas' car. felt much better after that ... and the 1pm lecture seemed to go by pretty quickly.

i think my decision to Applied Linguistics was a good idea, at least now i have a slightly better idea of what i can do after i graduate next year. it's an interesting unit and i think i'll learn lots from it. linguistics lecturers are usually strange and at least this guy (John Henderson) isn't too boring, so the unit seems bearable.

this might sound a bit weird, but i enjoy talking to foreign people. on saturday while working, this european-sounding couple wanted to know where the juicers were and i managed to figure out that that was what they were after, and i even directed them to the right aisle. seeing it all work out made me feel kind of happy, haha.

wanted to have my Udon fix, alas, the kitchen at the jap place we went to had closed.
BUT
quite glad to be home! my nice, dry home with some hot tea.

oh yes, i used my new bag today :D
i think it made my day a little better - those green apples.
